the importance of DYS561, a new branch in Dinaric-South, several new Big Ys: Updated I-S17250 tree

It seems that the STR marker DYS561 splits the Dinaric-South (I-PH908) group:
Most I-PH908 men have DYS561=16, including I-A13912 and most I-S17250* members.
A smaller group has DYS561=15, including all I-Z16983, I-A5913 and I-PH3310.

  1. My father's Y-DNA Haplogroup is I-CTS10936 and he is CTS10228-, S17250-, with a DYS561=15. He doesn't seem to fit anywhere. What advice would you offer?

  2. After more research, I see that my father is most likely Disles-B. I have ordered a SNP Test for CTS4002 on FTDNA.

  3. Thanks for posting these comments. We added you to the I-P37 project today, and you are correct, your father belongs to Disles-B and he is sure to be CTS4002+. In fact he belongs to the more specific I-A16633 branch, which is very typical of Northern Ireland and also found in Scotland.
